Matías Lorca has had tango in his blood since his native Buenos Aires. His training began at age 8 at the prestigious Institute of Folk Arts (IDAF), where he developed a solid foundation in Argentine tango, classical dance, and folklore, among other styles.
Before choosing Valencia as his home in 2001, he performed with renowned tango and musical theater companies throughout Argentina. His passion for teaching led him to establish three academies in Valencia, training hundreds of dancers who now share his love for tango.
La Cultural Tango Valencia, which he founded in 2004, is the result of this journey. Here, Matías combines the authentic essence of Argentine tango with a personalized and approachable teaching method. His international experience, including collaborations with European orchestras and a second place in ‘Tango Korea 2008 Trex Games’, enriches every class he teaches.
Every Friday, La Cultural comes to special life with our weekly milonga, where Matías shares the true culture of Argentine tango with students and visitors.
