Matías Lorca has tango in his blood from his native Buenos Aires. His training began at the age of 8 at the prestigious Instituto de Artes Folclórico (IDAF), where he built a solid foundation in Argentine tango, classical dance and folklore, among other styles.
Before choosing Valencia as his home in 2001, he performed with renowned tango and musical theatre companies all over Argentina. His passion for teaching led him to found three academies in Valencia, training hundreds of dancers who now share his love of tango.
La Cultural Tango Valencia, which he founded in 2004, is the result of this journey. Here, Matías combines the authentic essence of Argentine tango with a friendly, personalised teaching method. His international experience, which includes collaborations with European orchestras and a second place at the ‘Tango Corea 2008 Trex Games’, enriches every class he teaches.
